NPF clarifies
ITANAGAR, July27: Reacting to the news report where Students Union Movement of Arunachal (SUMA) raised its voice against formation of Arunachal Pradesh unit of Naga People’s Forum, West Siang district unit of Naga People’s Front (NPF) clarified that it is Naga People’s Front and not Forum like it has been mentioned in the news report.
In a release, it stated that NPF is a recognized regional political party and is legally recognized by the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Informing that NPF with due permission from ECI had formed the party unit in the Arunachal Pradesh three years back, it maintained that the main motive of the party is to fight for the political rights and create a regional feeling for the welfare of the entire NE states.
“Since Arunachal Pradesh is under union Government and India is a democratic country, NPF can contest election in the entire NE states as well as in other states also. If any other regional parties like NCP based on Maharashtra, and TMC based on West Bengal state can form party unit in the state, why not NPF?,” it questioned.

“I am currently in Delhi to pursue Delhi Chief Minister Shiela Dixit for allotment of land for constructing hostels near DU north Campus for boys and girls of North Eastern states as desired by AICC, but assure that on my return to the state capital would take up with the GoAP for extending all possible help for the rehabilitation of the fire victims”.

Man arrested for illegal possession of wildlife organs
ITANAGAR, Jul 27: A person was arrested by Likabali Police for illegal possession of wildlife organs and other animal body parts at Likabali yesterday.
Police recovered skin of a bear, gallbladder, four paws and claws and skin of an endangered Macaque (monkey) from his possession at Likabali APST bus station yesterday.
A case has been registered against the alleged accused identified as Takia Bengia of Chayang village under Koloriang Police Station at Likabali Police Station under Wildlife Protection Act,1972, informed Likabali SDPO Dr. D W Thungon.
Police started interrogation of the arrested person to ascertain from where had he procured these wildlife articles and what was he going to do with them.
The alleged poacher was first apprehended at APST bus stand at Likabali by the police patrol team led by SI A. Apang on suspicion as the person made some lame excuses when interrogated. Police, subsequently, started to check his luggage on suspicion which led to recovery of the animal body parts, SI (PC) Apang informed in a release.
Edn Minister assures to end teacher shortage problem in East Kameng
ITANAGAR, Jul 27: The shortage of teachers and lecturers in East Kameng, a major issue that was apparently catapulting into a major crisis, would be a thing of the past if the assurance by education minister Bosiram Siram turns to reality.
Siram assured posting adequate principals, teachers and lecturers in East Kameng district when a team of East Kameng Social Welfare and Cultural Organisation (EKSWCO) led by chairman Dr Tachi Taku along with Arunachal Pradesh Forest Corporation Limited chairman Tani Loffa and Sports Authority of Arunachal chairman Tapuk Taku called on him at his official bungalow here this afternoon.
“Your demands are very genuine. I have been constantly nagged and reminded about this problem by my colleagues Tani Loffa and Tapuk Taku on many occassions. I empathise with problems associated with absence of teachers and I assure that your demands would be met before the end of this coming August,” Siram assured.
Earlier, Dr Tachi Taku submitted claimed that three school principals, forty one junior and senior teachers and fifty assistant teachers were transferred from the district in last twelve years without relievers.
Siram informed that East Kameng, an educationally backward district, is prioritised by the state govt especially education department. To solve the current issue, a batch of teachers, both senior and junior, would be deployed for which recruitment process is underway.
“I assure you that maximum of the teachers recruited from this interview would be deployed in East Kameng so that the demands for teachers especially subject teachers would be efficiently catered to.”
Similarly, three principals would be posted within August for which almost all the formalities have been completed.
On lack of lecturers in Govt College Seppa that was established in 2009, Siram informed that altogether 11 lecturers of different subjects have been approved by the government for the College. “The cabinet has approved 142 posts of lecturers to cater to demands of various colleges out of which 59 have already been given to the state public service commission for recruitment. As soon as the result is out, the required lecturers would be deployed to Government College Seppa.”

APPDSU reacts: Meanwhile, describing the arrest of Papum Pare Unemployed Engineers Association president and four others on charges of manhandling an NHPC staff as unfortunate, the All Papum Pare District Students Union said that without proper investigation, the case was registered against them (arrested persons).
Claiming that the unemployed engineers, who wanted to know about the employment of local youths, were repeatedly denied permission to meet Executive Director, the Union said the incident could have been averted if the executive director and deputy manager cum PRO had dealt with the unemployed engineers in a better way. “When NHPC came to Arunachal Pradesh, they agreed to give priority on employment opportunity to local youths through signing of MoU with state Govt, it seems they have forgotten those agreement (MOU), the Union said.

The tournament conducted by Arunachal Pradesh Football Players Association (APFPA) under the aegis of Arunachal Pradesh Football Association (APFA) and recognized by Sports Authority of Arunachal and Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs is scheduled to start on August 3 at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, Naharlagun.
Altogether, 13 teams are participating in the tournament, which have been divided into four groups with winner and runners up of each team qualifying for the quarterfinals.
The winning team would be offered Rs. Two lakh while the runners up team would be given Rs. one lakh as prize money along with trophies.
The “best player” and the “highest scorer” will be awarded Rs 10,000 each.
The final will be played on August 15 at 3 pm.
“The main purpose of this tournament is to engage our youths into healthy and constructive activities by providing a platform to discove their hidden talents. Also, our state government is expected to concentrate more, by giving adequate support in the development of games and sport in the region,” said Kipa Ajay, organizing secretary.
The Eagle Trophy Football Tournament started way back in the year 1996. The winner
of the first tournament was Arunachal Pradesh Police Battalion (APPBn) team, under
the captaincy of Arun Saikia. Then came United Football Club (UFC) as winner of second
tournament, under the captaincy of Omak Apang, followed by Nyapin-
